Before establishing TMS Mediation, Terry Schneider was a practicing attorney in Florida since 1984. She represented Plaintiffs and Defendants in a wide range of civil litigation matters. From 1991 to 2025 she worked as Staff Counsel in a large international Insurance Company, where she handled and supervised a wide range of complex insurance litigation matters. Her work included motor vehicle negligence, premises liability, construction defect claims, subrogation, fire and fraud claims, and property damage defense. In this role, she not only litigated cases but also evaluated risk, managed litigation strategy, and participated extensively in settlement negotiations—experience that gives her unique insight into the decision-making process of insurance carriers and defense counsel.
Earlier in her career, Terry practiced civil litigation with several respected South Florida law firms representing both plaintiffs and defendants in numerous matters. This dual perspective allows her to approach mediation with neutrality, credibility, and a clear understanding of the interests and pressures faced by all parties involved. Her ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, insurers, and individual parties to the dispute fosters productive dialogue and meaningful resolution.
Before moving to South Florida, Terry Schneider served as a legal intern at The Florida Attorney General’s Office in Tallahassee, Florida, handling civil litigation and criminal appeals. Terry also interned as a judicial clerk for a Tallahassee circuit court judge.
After retiring from the insurance company in 2025 Terry became “of counsel” with a successful Plaintiff’s personal injury firm bringing a balanced understanding of both sides of the negotiation table to your mediation or arbitration.
Commitment to Ethics and Community Service In addition to her professional practice, Terry has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to ethics, mentorship, and the legal community. She previously served as a committee member of the Florida Bar’s 17th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee, acted as a mentor at Nova Southeastern University, and participated as a guest speaker for the Nova Southeastern Business Law Forum. She has also served as a Moot Court Judge, further reflecting her dedication to professionalism and legal education.
Through TMS Mediation, Terry applies her extensive legal background, ethical foundation, and calm, methodical approach to help parties resolve disputes efficiently and respectfully. She is committed to providing a mediation process that is fair, informed, and focused on practical outcomes, allowing parties to move forward with clarity and confidence.
